About the Miami and Broward County DSA Primary Voter Guide

Welcome to the Miami DSA and Broward County DSA Primary Voter Guide! In the pages that follow, you will find information about candidates who will be on your ballot, the political dynamics of races, and the extent to which a candidates’ policies align with DSA’s priorities and political vision. This guide is intended to help socialist and progressive voters in South Florida make informed choices while voting in the August 18th Primary.

For the November 3, 2026 General Election, the key dates are:

• October 5, 2026: Voter registration deadline / book closing

• October 19–November 1: Early voting, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM

• October 22: Deadline to request a Vote-by-Mail ballot, 5:00 PM

• November 3: Election Day, polls open 7:00 AM–7:00 PM

• November 3: Vote-by-Mail ballots must be received by 7:00 PM

• November 5: General deadline to cure a Vote-by-Mail signature issue, 5:00 PM

For municipal races, Broward confirms that the November 3 election is the relevant 2026 municipal election date, with the same October 5 registration and October 22 Vote-by-Mail deadlines. Florida is a CLOSED PRIMARY STATE, in order to participate in Florida Primaries for party specific candidates you MUST register with a party by the Voter Registration Deadline above (July 20th).
